World Cup ski jump

From Titisee as a starting point, the excursion destinations can be reached on foot, by train or by car. Destinations that can be reached on foot are within a radius of only 5 to 10 kilometers. For example, the natural World Cup ski jump in the Neustadt district. After a short hike from Titisee to Neustadt through the forest or along the stream, you reach Neustadt railroad station, from where you walk through a residential area to the ski jump, which is still the annual meeting point for the best ski jumpers in the world. Sports enthusiasts will certainly already know the ski jump from the winter sports program on television.

High ridge

The Hochfirst is the local mountain of Titisee-Neustadt. It can also be reached on foot from Titisee or Neustadt. After a hike of a few meters in altitude, you will be rewarded with a unique view from the foot of the tower. If you still have some strength left and manage to climb the numerous steps up to the tower, you can enjoy a fantastic panorama with views as far as the Alps. Our tip! Visit the Hochfirst excursion destination at sunset and enjoy the fantastic sunset with a view of the Black Forest landscape and the Feldberg.

Ski jump & Black Forest Ski Museum

The village of Hinterzarten is just 5 kilometers from Titisee. It has a lot to offer as an excursion destination: For example, the summer ski jump. Ski jumping competitions are held there every year, both in summer and winter. Well-known ski jumpers such as Martin Schmitt, Sven Hannawald and Andreas Wank grew up on this hill. If you're lucky, you can even watch the athletes training. The toy museum "zum kleinen Hannes" and the Black Forest Ski Museum with an exhibition of Georg Thoma, the famous ski jumper, are located in the immediate vicinity. In Hinterzarten, a short hike to the Ospele Hof is a good idea. On the farm, you can get an insight into the cheese dairy and buy sausage, cheese and the farm's own cosmetic products made from whey in the farm store. In our Eva Wiesler Beauty Spa, we pamper you with these cosmetic products, for example with a whey foot bath or a full-body whey pack. Just give it a try. Whey is particularly suitable for sensitive, allergy-prone skin.

Shopping spree in the old town

As an excursion destination in the Black Forest that is easy to reach by train, we recommend the city of Freiburg. With the famous Freiburg Minster as the center of the beautiful old town, you have various options here, from a guided tour through the narrow streets and historic buildings to a leisurely shopping spree in the numerous stores.

Mainau Island

Another excursion destination is the island of Mainau on Lake Constance, which can be reached by car from Titisee in around 1.5 hours. For flower lovers, this is a must-see destination in the Black Forest. You should definitely plan a whole day here. Tulips, daffodils, crocuses in spring, roses, daisies in summer and colorful dahlias in autumn - in addition to this seasonal splendor of flowers, Mainau Island has many other attractions and nature experiences in store for you, such as the butterfly house or the palm house with its many exotic palm trees.

Rhine Falls

The Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen are one of the 3 largest waterfalls in Europe and offer the whole family a unique nature experience. It is even illuminated at night. The nostalgic "Sauschwänzlebahn" train line is recommended for the journey to the Rhine Falls. On the tour with the historic "Sauschwänzlebahn" you will experience the flair of days gone by in the midst of beautiful nature. The route is 25 kilometers long and runs from Blumberg-Zollhaus to Weizen. The train travels over 4 bridges and through 6 tunnels. The panorama of the surrounding area, which is characterized by the interplay of valleys and mountains, is very impressive. In good weather, you can even see as far as the Alps.

Feldberg tower

At 1493 m above sea level, Feldberg in the Black Forest is not only the highest, but also one of the most popular excursion destinations in the entire Black Forest. The excursion destination is only around 10 kilometers away from Titisee and is easy to reach by car or bus. You can park in the multi-storey parking lot directly at Seebuck or in designated parking spaces along the B317. The Feldberg has a lot to offer as an excursion destination in the Black Forest. In summer, the beautiful natural landscape is ideal for hiking, biking or as a destination for a fantastic view of nature. In winter, Feldberg is an ideal destination in the Black Forest for winter sports. You can reach the highest point of the mountain either on foot or with the Feldbergbahn cable car. If you want to take a more athletic approach on foot, you can start the tour to the summit directly behind the "Haus der Natur". A wide, partly paved hiking trail leads uphill at a moderate gradient. This path is also suitable for wheelchairs and baby carriages. You will definitely be rewarded with a unique view. In good weather, you can even see as far as the Swiss Alps or the Zugspitze to the south and across the Rhine Valley to the Vosges mountains in the west. This trail is also suitable for a winter hike. With luck and inversion weather conditions, the Swiss mountains can be seen clearly. Once you have reached the Feldberg tower, you have a viewing platform on the 11th floor. This is 45 meters above the ground. Our tip: visit the Black Forest Ham Museum in the Feldberg Tower as a destination for your excursion and learn some interesting facts about the production and history of the famous ham.

The Feldberg is one of the oldest and largest nature reserves in the whole of Baden-Württemberg. During a visit to the "House of Nature", you will learn a lot about the formation of the Black Forest, typical stone species, local wildlife and the history of the highest mountain in the Black Forest. The exhibition there promises lots of fun for young and old and is highly recommended, as is the nature trail "Der Wichtelpfad". The Feldberg has many attractions that are particularly suitable for children as an excursion destination in the Black Forest. For example, pony rides, a climbing park or the Fundorena indoor sports hall. A very special tip is the HosentaschenRangerApp, which you can easily download from the Hochschwarzwald Tourismus website. It playfully explains everything you need to know about Feldberg .

Although Feldberg is one of the low mountain ranges in the southern Black Forest, it is quite challenging for hiking. Our tip for you: the premium hiking trail Feldbergsteig. With a length of 12.5 kilometers, it is quite difficult. Once you have climbed the first few meters up to the Feldberg tower, the trail leads past some cosy mountain huts. We recommend taking a break at the St. Wilhelmer Hütte, where happy pigs are still wallowing in the dirt. The trail continues down to the Zastler Hütter and from there uphill via a narrow stone path to the Baldenweger Hütte. You then continue to the Raimartihof inn. This farm is over 300 years old. The original low parlor still has a real tiled stove and the family's wedding clock. Don't miss out on the good Black Forest bratwurst sausages with "Brägele". Your tour continues to the idyllic Feldsee lake. In autumn, the colorful deciduous trees are romantically reflected in the lake. The last section takes you uphill again to the starting point of the excursion destination back on Feldberg.

Back at the hotel from your beautiful excursion destination in the Black Forest, we recommend that you first relax your tense muscles in the warm 36° C whirlpool and share your impressions of the day with other guests.
