At 1493 m above sea level, Feldberg in the Black Forest is not only the highest, but also one of the most popular excursion destinations in the entire Black Forest. The excursion destination is only around 10 kilometers away from Titisee and is easy to reach by car or bus. You can park in the multi-storey parking lot directly at Seebuck or in designated parking spaces along the B317. The Feldberg has a lot to offer as an excursion destination in the Black Forest. In summer, the beautiful natural landscape is ideal for hiking, biking or as a destination for a fantastic view of nature. In winter, Feldberg is an ideal destination in the Black Forest for winter sports. You can reach the highest point of the mountain either on foot or with the Feldbergbahn cable car. If you want to take a more athletic approach on foot, you can start the tour to the summit directly behind the "Haus der Natur". A wide, partly paved hiking trail leads uphill at a moderate gradient. This path is also suitable for wheelchairs and baby carriages. You will definitely be rewarded with a unique view. In good weather, you can even see as far as the Swiss Alps or the Zugspitze to the south and across the Rhine Valley to the Vosges mountains in the west. This trail is also suitable for a winter hike. With luck and inversion weather conditions, the Swiss mountains can be seen clearly. Once you have reached the Feldberg tower, you have a viewing platform on the 11th floor. This is 45 meters above the ground. Our tip: visit the Black Forest Ham Museum in the Feldberg Tower as a destination for your excursion and learn some interesting facts about the production and history of the famous ham.
The Feldberg is one of the oldest and largest nature reserves in the whole of Baden-Württemberg. During a visit to the "House of Nature", you will learn a lot about the formation of the Black Forest, typical stone species, local wildlife and the history of the highest mountain in the Black Forest. The exhibition there promises lots of fun for young and old and is highly recommended, as is the nature trail "Der Wichtelpfad". The Feldberg has many attractions that are particularly suitable for children as an excursion destination in the Black Forest. For example, pony rides, a climbing park or the Fundorena indoor sports hall. A very special tip is the HosentaschenRangerApp, which you can easily download from the Hochschwarzwald Tourismus website. It playfully explains everything you need to know about Feldberg .
Although Feldberg is one of the low mountain ranges in the southern Black Forest, it is quite challenging for hiking. Our tip for you: the premium hiking trail Feldbergsteig. With a length of 12.5 kilometers, it is quite difficult. Once you have climbed the first few meters up to the Feldberg tower, the trail leads past some cosy mountain huts. We recommend taking a break at the St. Wilhelmer Hütte, where happy pigs are still wallowing in the dirt. The trail continues down to the Zastler Hütter and from there uphill via a narrow stone path to the Baldenweger Hütte. You then continue to the Raimartihof inn. This farm is over 300 years old. The original low parlor still has a real tiled stove and the family's wedding clock. Don't miss out on the good Black Forest bratwurst sausages with "Brägele". Your tour continues to the idyllic Feldsee lake. In autumn, the colorful deciduous trees are romantically reflected in the lake. The last section takes you uphill again to the starting point of the excursion destination back on Feldberg.
Back at the hotel from your beautiful excursion destination in the Black Forest, we recommend that you first relax your tense muscles in the warm 36° C whirlpool and share your impressions of the day with other guests.
